Dark Americana

Taylor Hernly is an Indiana-based songwriter blending dark folk, Americana, punk rock, and gritty storytelling into songs shaped by long highways, hard lessons, and restless nights.

Drawing influence from artists like Townes Van Zandt, Jim Croce, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Tyler Childers, his music walks the line between raw vulnerability and driving intensity — weaving together themes of redemption, loneliness, faith, addiction, and survival.

A full-time traveling musician, Hernly has spent years playing bars, listening rooms, songwriter rounds, and backroad venues across the country, building his sound one mile at a time.

Whether performing stripped-down acoustic ballads or rhythm-heavy anthems, his songs carry the weight of lived experience while still searching for hope somewhere in the wreckage.

With a DIY spirit and a road-worn perspective, Taylor continues carving out his own lane between dark folk, Americana, and punk-influenced roots music.
